UC Press Announces Partnership with Society of Architectural Historians
2/9/2009
University of California Press Journals + Digital Publishing is proud to announce that the Society of Architectural Historians, a not-for-profit membership organization and learned society that promotes the study and preservation of the built environment worldwide, has selected UC Press as its new partner in publishing the
Journal of the Society of Architectural Historians (JSAH), beginning in January 2010.
The Society of Architectural Historians is the leading international learned society that promotes the study, interpretation and preservation of the built environment worldwide.
JSAH--published since 1941--is widely recognized as a leading English-language journal on the built environment. Published four times per year, each issue offers three to four scholarly articles on American and international topics, reviews of recent books and architecture exhibitions, and a variety of editorials designed to place the discipline of architectural history within a larger intellectual context.
Central to the SAH/UC Press publishing agreement is the reshaping of
JSAH’s online presence to incorporate a wider variety of digital content--including zoomable images, video and audio clips, and geographic information systems (GIS).
"The SAH has set forth a bold and exciting vision for integrating multimedia features to enhance the study and understanding of architectural history and the built environment. We are honored to partner with the Society in this endeavor and excited about the opportunities the new digital environment creates not only for JSAH
but for other disciplines as well."--Rebecca Simon, Associate Director, University of California Press and Director of the Journals + Digital Publishing Division.
